Accessing CRN Materials and Services

Conflict Risk Network (CRN) membership is available to all institutional investors and financial/investment service providers.

Annual membership fees are based on CRN’s Membership Fee Scale and vary by institution type and size. Both CRN and its parent organization, GI-NET, have non-profit 501(c)3 status, and all CRN membership fees are used to cover CRN’s operational costs and expansion. Certain payments made by CRN Members may be eligible for special tax treatment, including deductions.

Please contact us to receive the CRN membership fee scale and membership forms.

Looking for the Sudan Company Report?

The following options are available for individuals and institutions that wish to receive CRN’s research and/or stakeholder services, including the Sudan Company Report and accompanying materials*:

1. Become a CRN Member (for institutions). CRN membership ensures unlimited access (institution-wide and for commercial use) to the Sudan Company Report and accompanying financial data.* CRN members receive a number of features not available to non-member subscribers. These include:

  • The ability to use CRN materials commercially (i.e. in financial products and tools).
  • Access to CRN analysts, who assist with questions and additional research, and to bi-annual CRN analyst briefings.
  • Access to CRN's secure server database, which hosts all CRN material, including the Sudan Company Report. This also includes the ability to register an unlimited number of your institution's staff to access the database.
  • Engagement services (with opt-out abilities) with companies listed in the Sudan Company Report. On behalf of its members, CRN encourages companies to address the risks associated with their operations and adopt standards developed to reduce risk and promote peace and stability.
  • Support, in cases where members wish to conduct engagement independently.  CRN provides assistance with template letters and company contacts.
  • Annual risk analysis reports for Sudan, which include quantitative analyses of the financial performance of companies in the Sudan Company Report relative to their peer groups.

Please contact us to receive the CRN membership fee scale and membership agreement.

2) Purchase a non-member subscription to the Sudan Company Report. Non-member subscribers must designate a single user to receive quarterly company reports and financial data spreadsheets by email (only CRN members have institution-wide access to CRN’s secure server database). Non-member subscribers do not receive the features listed under "Become a CRN Member" above, but receive the quarterly Sudan Company Report and accompanying materials.*

Please contact us if you are interested in purchasing a non-member subscription.

3) Apply for a fee waiver. Fee waiver applications are available for public pension plans and other institutional entities that are required by a legislative mandate (or resolution or similar process) to follow a targeted model of Sudan divestment. The fee waiver covers a non-member subscription to the Sudan Company Report and accompanying materials but may be applied towards the cost of full membership as well.

If you do not represent an institution, feel that you should be eligible for a fee waiver, or would like more information on CRN, please contact us.

*  The Sudan Company Report is released quarterly, and includes in-depth information on the Sudan-related operations of companies primarily in the oil, mineral extraction, power production and weapons sectors. These quarterly reports are accompanied by spreadsheets that provide corporate structure and security identification information, drawn from Bloomberg LP, on the companies profiled in the Sudan Company Report.
